Stockdale Award to 2 Winchelsea Lions
One of the highest Australian Lions Clubs awards has been presented to two of the Winchelsea Lions Club's members, in recognition of exception community service over many years. The Alan J Stockdale Award was given to Murray Aisbett and Hugh McCallum during the Winchelsea Lions' annual Christmas Dinner.
Presented by Lions District Governor Mary Harlow and introduced by Winchelsea Lion Neville Mawson, Murray and Hugh received an official plaque as a "Thankyou" for their efforts. Hugh McCallum has put in over 1,400 hours to the paper recycling project - receiving, sorting, baling and stacking newspapers & magazines in the shed next to the Senior Citizens Club in Winchelsea. Hugh has also been very active in all other areas of the Lions Club. Murray has held the offices of President, Treasurer and is currently the Secretary of the Winchelsea Lions Club, and has also been very active in all areas and projects - but particularly helping out with the famous Chuck Wagon (sausage sizzle and burgers) and sheep manure bagging working bees.
The Club extends a warm congratulations to both Murray and Hugh for their Award, well deserved.
